What Hemgenix is
Hemgenix (etranacogene dezaparvovec) is made by CSL Behring. The US FDA approved Hemgenix on 22 November 2022 for adults with hemophilia B who currently use factor IX prophylaxis, or have current or past life-threatening bleeding, or have repeated, serious spontaneous bleeding episodes.
How it is given: A single intravenous (IV) infusion that can be given only once. The hematologist will check liver health and antibodies before treatment and follow up afterwards.
