Pediatrics coordination
Weight-based dosing, ready-to-use oral suspensions, and paediatric labels that lag adult approvals by a year or more. We run to the specific child and family.
Paediatric coordination overlaps substantially with rare disease but carries its own operational signature. A meaningful share of the orders we handle for children are oral suspensions or weight-based liquid formulations, and many of the relevant therapies have paediatric labels that lag the adult approval by a year or more.
Paediatric therapy classes we commonly coordinate
- Ready-to-use oral suspensions — Jylamvo (methotrexate oral solution for ALL maintenance and paediatric rheumatology), Myhibbin (mycophenolate mofetil oral suspension for transplant immunosuppression), Eohilia (viscous budesonide for eosinophilic oesophagitis in children 11 and older).
- Growth and endocrinology — Ngenla, a once-weekly long-acting human growth hormone for paediatric growth hormone deficiency.
- Rare paediatric neurology and oncology — Komzifti for Rett syndrome, Modeyso for H3 K27M-mutant diffuse glioma, Revuforj for KMT2A-rearranged acute leukaemia.
- Paediatric immunology — biologics indicated for paediatric plaque psoriasis and spondyloarthritis, including Selarsdi (ustekinumab biosimilar).
- Paediatric neffy and anaphylaxis — Neffy's 1 mg paediatric dose extends needle-free epinephrine to children 15 to less than 30 kg.
Paediatric-specific coordination considerations
Weight-based dosing and age-banded formulations mean the order must match the patient precisely. Oral suspensions that do not require on-site reconstitution simplify dispensing for the caregiver, but the treating physician should confirm that the local regulatory pathway allows the dispensed US product to be handed over in its original labelled form. For cold-chain biologics destined for a paediatric ward, the carrier and the receiving institution both need to understand the child-specific handling plan at delivery.
Posture
The treating paediatrician or paediatric specialist remains the clinical decision-maker. We coordinate the import and the dispensing partner's review, and we hold the trail so the chart at home is defensible long after the order is closed.
