For Gulf hospitals and treating physicians

When your patient needs a US FDA-approved medicine that is not available locally, we help your international patient department and your hospital pharmacy obtain it through the legal route, with the paperwork done properly.

Who this page is for

  • International patient departments in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman
  • Treating physicians whose patient needs a medicine that is not registered or not available locally
  • Hospital pharmacy and procurement teams who receive the medicine

What we do

  • Check the status first. We check whether the medicine is registered in your country. If it is, we tell you and point to the local route.
  • Explain the route. We explain the likely access route and what the regulator usually asks for. The hospital or the treating physician makes the request to the regulator. We do not file it on your behalf.
  • Prepare the supply documents. A written quotation or pro forma invoice and the US prescribing information. With the shipment: the commercial invoice, the lot certificate of analysis where the manufacturer provides one, and the temperature record.
  • Arrange supply and delivery. In-channel supply from our US-licensed pharmaceutical wholesale partner, and cold-chain shipping to your hospital pharmacy.
  • Keep you updated. One coordinator for the case, in Arabic or English, on WhatsApp or email.

Documents we need

  1. A prescription on hospital letterhead, signed and stamped, with the patient's name, the medicine, strength, dose and length of treatment.
  2. A recent medical report with the diagnosis, treatment so far, and why locally available options are not suitable.
  3. A copy of the patient's ID: national ID, Iqama, Emirates ID or passport.
  4. The treating physician's licence number, for example the SCFHS registration in Saudi Arabia or the DHA, DOH or MOHAP licence in the UAE.
  5. The regulator's approval or import permit for the named patient, once it is issued.
  6. The delivery address of the receiving hospital pharmacy and a named pharmacy contact.
Requirements differ by country and can change. Your pharmacy team confirms the current list with the regulator, and we match our documents to it. Please do not send patient records through the form on this page. After the first contact we tell you how to send documents securely.

Example: Saudi Arabia

The SFDA Special Access Program guidance (version 1.0, 2019) says the request is started by the manufacturer or sponsor, or by the licensed treating physician when there is no sponsor. After approval, the hospital sends an official cover letter, the request form signed by the treating physician and the patient's signed informed consent. The SFDA then issues an import letter so that the hospital can clear the product. We give you a written timeline estimate for your case before you commit. It does not give a fixed time for the decision.

The SFDA's Regulatory Framework for Rare Diseases Drugs (August 2026) also points to the Named Patient Program and the Special Access Program for patients with unmet medical needs.

Timelines

  • First reply: within one business day. On WhatsApp we usually reply the same day.
  • Written quote: sent once the documents are complete. Nothing is paid before the quote is accepted.
  • Regulator decision: set by the regulator, not by us. We follow up with your pharmacy team until it is issued.
  • Shipping: confirmed in the written quote. It depends on the medicine and its cold-chain needs.

What we do not do

  • We do not prescribe or give clinical advice. The treating physician makes every clinical decision.
  • We do not supply investigational medicines. The treating physician can apply to the manufacturer's expanded-access program, and we can explain that route.
  • We do not handle controlled medicines such as narcotics or psychotropics.
  • We do not pay or accept referral fees, and we ask for no volume commitment or exclusivity.

Reserve Meds is a digital health company. Medicines are supplied through a US-licensed pharmaceutical wholesale partner.
