What Modeyso is

Modeyso (dordaviprone) is made by Jazz Pharmaceuticals. The US FDA granted Modeyso accelerated approval on 6 August 2025 for adult and pediatric patients 1 year of age and older with diffuse midline glioma harboring an H3 K27M mutation, with progressive disease after prior therapy. Continued approval may depend on the phase 3 ACTION trial. At US approval, Jazz said Modeyso was not approved anywhere else in the world.

How it is given: A capsule taken by mouth once a week. Your neuro-oncologist will explain side effects and monitoring.

How access works in Saudi Arabia

Because Modeyso is approved by the US FDA, a licensed Saudi hospital can ask SFDA for permission to import it for one named patient. This is often called the named-patient route.

SFDA expects the medicine to be registered with at least one reference regulator, such as the US FDA or the European Medicines Agency. The hospital signs a declaration that it takes responsibility for safe use. A licensed importer signs a declaration covering quality during transport. The patient or a legal guardian gives written consent after the treating doctor explains the benefits and risks.

SFDA's Special Access Program is a different route, for medicines with no reference approval anywhere, such as products still in clinical trials. Modeyso does not need that route because it already has FDA approval.

Public lists can lag behind registration decisions, so the hospital pharmacy confirms the status in SFDA's system before anything is filed.

Who does what

  • Your treating specialist decides whether Modeyso is right for the patient and writes the referral or prescription.
  • The hospital or treatment center orders and gives the medicine, and is responsible for using it safely.
  • The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) registers medicines and decides on any import request for a medicine that is not registered.
  • Jazz Pharmaceuticals makes Modeyso and decides where it can be supplied.
  • Reserve Meds helps your family understand the steps, organizes records and communication, and, where an import is needed, arranges US supply through our licensed wholesale partner. We do not give medical advice.

Documents you will usually need

  • The pathology report showing the H3 K27M mutation, and recent MRI scans showing progression
  • A prescription or treatment plan from the specialist, with the dose and duration
  • Recent clinic notes and laboratory results
  • For an import request: the hospital's request form, its signed declaration of responsibility, written patient consent, and proof of the US FDA approval (we can supply the US prescribing information)

Steps

  1. Doctor's letter. Your specialist writes the clinical letter and prescription.
  2. Hospital request. The hospital pharmacy files the named-patient request with SFDA.
  3. Regulator decision. SFDA reviews the request and approves it or asks for more information.
  4. US sourcing. Our US-licensed wholesale partner supplies the medicine, shipped with the right temperature controls.
  5. Hospital receipt. The hospital pharmacy receives the medicine and gives it to the patient.

How Reserve Meds helps

Reserve Meds is a digital health company. Medicines are supplied through a US-licensed pharmaceutical wholesale partner. We coordinate access to FDA-approved medicines only. We help your family understand the route, organize records and communication with the hospital or center, and, where an import is approved, arrange US supply and shipping. We do not prescribe, and we do not decide what the regulator or a treatment center approves.
