Is Rasonque available in the UAE? How families get Rasonque (daraxonrasib)

A plain answer for families in the UAE, checked against FDA, manufacturer and regulator sources.

Reviewed by the Reserve Meds clinical operations team on 13 October 2026.

Is Rasonque available in the UAE?

Rasonque (daraxonrasib) is an FDA-approved oral RAS inhibitor for previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer. Rasonque is listed with an active code in the Abu Dhabi Department of Health drug code list (release of 26 September 2026). We could not verify its federal EDE status. The legal route is a named-patient request: the treating hospital, on your specialist's request, asks the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) for permission to import Rasonque for one patient, using the US FDA approval as the reference. Once approved, Reserve Meds arranges supply through a US-licensed pharmaceutical wholesale partner to the hospital pharmacy. We do not prescribe. We give you a written timeline estimate for your case before you commit.

  • Registration in the UAE: not found in public sources as of 13 October 2026. Your hospital confirms before filing.
  • Legal route: Named-patient import request to EDE, filed by the treating hospital.
  • Who applies: your treating hospital in the UAE (licensed by DoH in Abu Dhabi, DHA in Dubai, or the federal system in the other emirates), on the request of your treating specialist.
  • We give you a written timeline estimate for your case before you commit.

What Rasonque is

Rasonque (daraxonrasib) is made by Revolution Medicines. The US FDA approved it on 26 August 2026 for adults with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma (pancreatic cancer that has spread) who have received at least one prior systemic therapy, or who are not candidates for multiagent systemic therapy. It is given as a 300 mg tablet taken by mouth once a day.

In the RASolute 302 trial, median overall survival was 13.2 months with Rasonque compared with 6.7 months with chemotherapy. The most common side effects in the FDA announcement were rash, diarrhea, mouth sores (stomatitis), nausea, tiredness, vomiting, belly pain, swelling, lower appetite and bleeding.

At US approval, Revolution Medicines said daraxonrasib had not been approved by any regulator outside the United States, and that the European Medicines Agency had started a review.

The legal route in the UAE

The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) is the UAE's federal medicines regulator. It was created by Federal Decree No. 28 of 2023 and takes over the medicines role of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP). Medicines normally have to be registered before they are used.

For a medicine that is not registered, the treating hospital asks for approval to import it for a specific patient. The hospital signs an undertaking that it takes responsibility for the medicine's use, and it shows that the medicine is registered in its country of origin. FDA approval makes this easier. The medicine stays inside the hospital system and cannot be resold.

Hospitals in Abu Dhabi are licensed by the Department of Health (DoH), and hospitals in Dubai by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). DoH publishes data showing that thousands of non-registered drug products have been used in Abu Dhabi under special authorization. Your hospital pharmacy will know which office handles the file for your hospital today.

Ask your hospital pharmacy to confirm the current status with EDE and, for Abu Dhabi or Dubai hospitals, with DoH or DHA before anything is filed.

Who does what

  • Your treating specialist decides whether Rasonque is right for the patient and writes the letter and prescription.
  • The hospital files the request and is responsible for giving the medicine safely.
  • The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) decides whether to approve an import of an unregistered medicine.
  • Revolution Medicines makes Rasonque and decides where it can be supplied.
  • Reserve Meds coordinates the paperwork, the US supply through our wholesale partner, shipping and updates to your family. We do not give medical advice.

Documents the hospital will usually need

  • A letter from the treating specialist: diagnosis, past treatments, and why Rasonque is needed
  • A prescription with the dose and how long treatment should last
  • Supporting reports, such as pathology, genetic or laboratory results
  • The hospital's request form and its signed declaration of responsibility
  • Written consent from the patient or a legal guardian
  • Proof of the US FDA approval and the US prescribing information (we can supply these)

Timeline, step by step

  1. Doctor's letter. Your specialist writes the clinical letter and prescription.
  2. Hospital request. The hospital pharmacy files the named-patient request with EDE.
  3. Regulator decision. EDE reviews the request and issues an approval or asks for more information.
  4. US sourcing. Our US-licensed wholesale partner supplies the medicine, and it is shipped with the right temperature controls.
  5. Hospital receipt. The medicine is received at the hospital pharmacy, which gives it to the patient.

The overall time is our planning estimate, not a promise. The regulator and the manufacturer set their own timelines.
